Experiencing Knix Calgary

An Introduction to Knix and their new Calgary Storefront

Woe is when Calgarians would have to go online, shop, and wait with baited breath for the arrival of one of the best leak-proof apparels. Knix marked its opening in Downtown Calgary in October with a fabulous event that allowed customers to wander through the aisles and try on their lightweight products. I was able to meet and chat with other women and connect with a much larger community of the company’s biggest fans. While exploring the beautiful patterns and textures, I wondered what makes Knix's patented technology so unique and special.

As a Knix amateur, a few principles that stuck out to me was their determination to reduce environmental degradation, their human-centric design, and various local initiatives. First, by having this location, they anticipate cutting down on their carbon footprint by offering a local place for face-to-face shopping and pick up.

Second, their human-centred designs are stocked with various styles of lightweight anti-chafing shorts, wireless bras, and overnight period protection. Their designs and purpose for leak-proof wear are to empower their consumers to make a more environmentally friendly choice at an affordable price. With many women having issues with preventing overnight leaks at the stake of comfort, I appreciate a brand that sees a problem and does its part to fix the issue, all the while considering their wearers. Each piece of apparel is designed to enhance and make lives better for women everywhere.

While thinking of their customers and how they can better their lives, Knix is also working towards building up better communities around their storefronts as well. There is no point in succeeding without trying to make the world a better place in the process. And Knix has found a way to support those around them. Through various fund opportunities, the Knix team launched a new focused giving program inspired by their community. Applications for the fund closed earlier this month, and they are excited to find recipients just as passionate as them about building a better tomorrow. The initiative’s purpose is to provide funding for grassroots organizations, industries, and inspired storytellers. The total grant will be split between the top four applicants, so keep your eyes peeled to see who will be the lucky four selected to help change the world!

After learning of their roots, goals and inspiration, I am no longer a novice of Knix. I find inspiration in their story and feel empowered while wearing their apparel. Seeing my needs reflected back at me with their feminine designs and efficiency is also excellent. As a mother of two, it's nice to have the versatility of running errands to jumping on a zoom call, with apparel only meant to make things easier.

If you’re in the area, be sure to check out the new Knix storefront, located at 1800 4th Street, in southwest Calgary.
