●    The Good Tee - @thegoodtee_ - next to oil, the apparel industry is the planet’s most destructive industry. However, there’s a way to bring to market products that are ethically produced, sustainable, and certifiably “good”. The Good Tee was created to make it easier for you to purchase guilt-free, responsibly-made fashion basics. Their Fairtrade Certified Organic Cotton pieces are designed and delivered to you with the environment and ethical manufacture in mind. They achieve this through the good and honest relationships maintained with partners and through 100% transparency of a supply chain which The Good Tee tracks throughout its lifespan - from farm to finished garment right through to delivery

●  Dinadi - @dinadinepal - an ethical knitwear brand that was founded by husband and wife, Preston and Mirjam. When Preston and Mirjam visited Nepal nine years ago, they saw the lifestyle they lived in their youth was different from these warm-hearted beings. The vision of helping Nepalese, who have faced environmental, political and social issues, resulted in helping families who are struggling by giving them financial security and the support they need. With the help of over fifty local knitters, DINADI products are 100% knitted, boxed and packaged in Nepal, and are currently being sold in 137 stores, in 12 countries.

After such a long pause due to the pandemic, we come together to celebrate us, celebrate our dreams and spirits of each other and celebrate 2021 - a year of evolving, adapting and pivoting for the fashion community.

#EVENTDETAILS

The event happens on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm MST, at Christine Klassen Gallery (321 50 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta).

Tickets are available on Eventbrite for $30.00 (not including service fees and taxes).

A portion of the ticket sales will go towards #NotInMyCity (Instagram @nimcally) - a project facilitated by Paul Brandt, a Canadian country music artist and his team to raise awareness and take collective action to prevent and end human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

THE YELLOW ROSE is an iconic symbol of #NotInMyCity designed by Canadian designer, Paul Hardy. This is a symbol of support and a statement that you stand in solidarity with trafficking survivors as an Ally of #NotInMyCity. - Image and information from #NotInMyCity’s website.

#COVID-19 REGULATIONS

Following the City of Calgary’s COVID-19 Bylaw for indoor events, we will check your vaccine passport, recent negative COVID-19 test or valid medical exemption letter at the door and require attendees to wear a face-covering or mask throughout the event.

Since I was small, I’ve always been a strong advocate for local communities. The Issue Magazine is an opportunity for me to get closer to the community of local fashion designers and business owners, listen to them and help them share their stories.
