1. Sage Green

If you’ve been on social media in the past few months, no doubt you’ve been seeing sage green everywhere. The IT colour of this year has been dominating everything from fashion trends to interior design with its wistful hue. Style the colour with contrasting neutrals for a spring outfit that’s sure to pop.

2. Sorbet Pastel Tones

Nothing screams summer like popping into the local ice cream/gelato shop on a hot, sunny day and getting a scoop of sorbet. Not only is sorbet delicious, but its soft, flattering tones make for gorgeous spring and summer outfits. Think of pastel orange, pink, and reds when shopping for these colours.

3. Corset-inspired tops and dresses

Netflix’s historical drama series “Bridgerton”, released last December, has inspired a revival of corset inspired looks. Although not quite historically accurate, the term corset is being used to widely apply to tops and dresses with some sort of boning and/or lacing. From fashion corsets to bustiers to corset belts, there’s a wide variety of choices for anyone looking to dip their toes into this trend.

4. Puffy Sleeves

Adding on to the desire for drama and structure sparking the corset-top trend, puffy sleeves are a sweet and flirty way to elevate a basic outfit. A versatile trend, you can find puffy sleeves on crop tops, blouses, and any shirt your heart desires. For an eye-striking combination, try a corset-top  or a dreamy sorbet pastel dress with puffy sleeves.

5. Spring Knits

A cozy way to start off the changing temperatures, leap into spring with these spring-inspired knits! Warm cardigans, knitted shirts, and knit sets come to mind when we’re reaching for clothes that can haul us through the rain, wind, and chilly spring days ahead of us.

6. Oversized jackets

Always a welcome trend, oversized clothing has a special place in fashion history. This season, we’re seeing a lot of oversized jackets, a great way to layer during Spring’s confusing weather patterns and a cool accessory for a breezy summer night out.

7. Platform Boots and Heels

Lately it seems that the trend with heels and boots is the higher, the better! Chunky platform boots and heels make for an edgy accessory to complete your outfit. For a softer look, take inspiration from the 70’s and put on a pair of gogo-inspired boots with your blazer.

8. Monochrome Neutrals

Not a fan of lighter colours like the sage and sorbet colours? Try wearing monochrome neutrals! Outfits consisting of one shade/colour have always been popular, but this season we’re seeing the rise of the neutral monochrome outfit. Colours such as beige are especially in right now.

9. Chocolate Brown Neutrals

If sage green is the IT colour of the season, chocolate brown neutrals comes in a close second. No longer the ugly sister of neutral tones, chocolate brown is a rich, decadent neutral that compliments those dreamy pastels we were talking about earlier. From sunglasses to leather pants, the colour is versatile and can be styled however you like.

10. Leather, Leather Leather

Leather pants and oversized leather jackets are taking over. The leather pant has been re-invented, with all sorts of cuts and colours to please even the most suspicious customer. Not a fan of heavy, oversized leather jackets? The leather shacket (shirt + jacket) is a great alternative. Try black, dark red, and chocolate brown for shades that will compliment the rest of your outfit.

And as a last tip, always be sure to put on sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun so you can make the most of this spring and summer when you’re looking amazing in these ten trends!
